The 'Sons of Confederate Veterans' is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of Southern heritage and the truth regarding what was fought, suffered, and died for during the United States Civil War.

Our main objective is education.

We strive to inform the public and younger generations about the true causes of the 'War Between the States.' We try to aid any individuals who seek their Confederate ancestors.

We work to erect new Confederate monuments and to maintain the ones which are already standing. Other such duties and public services are performed by the SCV; the list goes on and on.

All prospective new members must be male of at least 12 years and be able to prove descendancy from a Confederate soldier or sailor. The ancestor can be a father, grandparent, uncle, cousin, 3rd cousin etc.

Charge to the Sons of Confederate Veterans:

"To you, Sons of Confederate Veterans, we submit the vindication for the Cause for which we fought, to your strength will be given the defense of the Confederate Soldier's good name, the guardianship of his history, the emulation of his virtues, the perpetuation of those principles he loved and which made him glorious and which you cherish. Remember, it is your duty to see that the true history of the South is presented to future generations."
